Plan your first private dog-space visit

Prepare arrival, handover and departure so the booking is easy to use.

Prepare a compact booking record

Save the exact address, booking time, entry instructions and operator contact somewhere you can access on arrival. Check whether the venue name refers to a single property or several locations. Read any directions about the correct driveway, parking area and waiting point rather than relying only on the map pin.

Confirm who is attending and that your booking covers the number of dogs and people. If the operator requires an induction or documents, complete those steps in advance. A paid booking may still depend on meeting the venue’s stated entry conditions.

Whinnleys requires enrolment before booking its private park service. Dog Logic Australia separates exercise-area hire from its agility option. Check these kinds of prerequisites before organising the journey.

Pack for the facilities actually provided

Review what the venue supplies and what you must bring. Make a short list covering leads, water and a bowl if needed, waste bags, and any permitted play equipment you intend to use. Ask about toys or training equipment if the rules are unclear, particularly when they could be left behind or affect later visitors.

Prepare for the advertised surface and the journey home. Keep the first session simple rather than bringing a large collection of unfamiliar equipment. The aim is to learn the site’s layout and whether the arrangement suits your normal routine.

Follow the arrival sequence

Use the operator’s specified waiting area if another customer is still inside. Do not assume arriving early gives you access to the enclosure. Follow the venue’s instructions for moving from the vehicle through any shared area and for opening and closing gates.

Before beginning the session, look around the booked space and confirm that you understand its boundaries and facilities. If a gate, fence section or other feature appears different from what was agreed, contact the operator. If you are not comfortable with the conditions, pause the visit rather than relying on the original listing as reassurance.

Leave time for departure and review

Allow time within the booking to gather equipment, clear up as required and leave through the designated route. Follow the operator’s handover instructions so the next visitor does not need to enter while you are still collecting belongings. Report any issue or item left behind using the venue’s preferred contact method.

After the visit, record what mattered: parking-to-gate distance, nearby activity, water arrangements and how smoothly the booking worked. These notes make repeat bookings easier and help you judge whether a longer session or membership is worthwhile. If writing a public review, describe what you observed on that visit rather than claiming the space will suit every dog.
